Tips For Your Nails

Trust me when I say this, people DO notice your nails. Therefore it is important that they are always looking chic! But, nail polish is so expensive for girls (and boys) who have so many other things to pay for. Don’t you wish you can just buy the cheap kind from the dollar store and have it work just as well as your favorite OPI or Essie bottle? Well you can. That’s right! Here’s how to make it work; invest in a really good (clear) top coat for your nails and apply it after every time you paint them. This way you can buy a variety of colors to choose from and not worry about them chipping every five seconds. It will save you money and help your nails look perfect for all those Manicure Mondays.

Top coats you should try:

Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall!

I know it seems like summer’s been over for a while, but it’s not over until Friday, September 21st. Yes, Friday officially marks the first day of fall! Excited? Who wouldn’t be? We get to go back to warm knitted sweaters and sipping hot coco by the fire-um-or next to your heater? Ha-ha! So let me ask you; are you ready for fall? Did you buy your fashionable essentials? No? Well let me help you help yourself.

1. Remember one of the big trends this fall/winter is the combination of the colors black and gold. I’m sure you all already have plenty of black shirts to choose from, like you should, so try buying a gold long sleeves shirt or sweater. You can wear your long sleeves shirt under a loose black shirt, or wear your sweater over a collard black shirt. Both styles are very chic and easy to rock!

2. Make sure you have boots that shape your legs! Yes, UGGs are very cute but you don’t want to make them your main dressy-winter boots. Remember that they are snow boots. When it’s not snowing try wearing long black boots that go up to your knees with some dark skinny’s and a cute top. Mix it up a little!

3. Did you buy a new jacket yet? If you need one, buy a long black coat. They’re always in and easy to pull off. If you’re into that Gossip Girl type of style, then try a long red coat with some black leather gloves and black boots.

4. If you’re buying a new bag for the fall/winter the color snow white is a big hit. Invest in one of those and you’re good to go.

You most likely have everything you need for this fall/winter. You might need to buy a few things here and there, but remember to only buy the things you need. Don’t go straight after a trend. Buy around it. Buy things that will probably be good to wear next year.

Fashion Week History

Fashion Week has always been popular. It just wasn’t always popular in New York. People would always travel to Paris to see the fashion shows and what the new trends were. However, during World War II, Americans couldn’t travel to Paris for fashion week so Eleanor Lambert organized “Press Week” in New York. Press Week turned out to be a big hit and magazines that would always be filled with French designers, became filled with American designers.
